For those Japanese planes that are designed to do one job only and do it as well as possible.

While there are numerous Japanese planes that might logically be described as "special purpose", the planes you will find here are those that stray from the basic design of a blade fitted to a body and add components such as fences, additional blades and adjustability to allow them to perform their intended task as well as it can be done.

A warning: be prepared for sticker shock, few of these planes are what you might consider wallet friendly.
