"Wagou" -Togo Inukubi-

"Wagou", translates somewhat as 'harmony', and the smooth, subtle appearance of the blade in this kanna suggests some kind of tranquility. But with Togo Inukubi steel laminated to kamaji, the mating of the materials suggests anything but a harmonious marriage.

Togo inukubi (literally dog's neck) is very similar to High Speed Steel in composition, and has been used in similar circumstances such as metal lathe tooling. Being incredibly difficult to forge, shape and sharpen, perhaps the fact that the two metals are made into a single blade would require more than a little harmony...

With a closed tsutsumi style mouth opening in a shiragashi dai (Japanese white oak) and furnished in a Kiri (Paulownia wood) presentation style box.
