"Meimon" - Special blade steel-

"Meimon" translates as something akin to "Nobility" and for this unique kanna it's an apt name.

The 'forge purified' special blade steel lamianted to kamaji used in the blade has a hefty infusion of Tungsten and Chromium, adding great abrasion resistance and edge life. However, unlike the similar Swallow steel, the alloying elements are added as very small molecules allowing this blade to take a keener edge, permits easier sharpening but is not quite as durable.

Ideally suited for all hardwoods, but not recommended for softwoods.

Fitted to a tsutsumi/closed mouth style shiragashi dai and supplied in a paper box.
