Homesick? At ‘home’?

Hello again Faithful Reader,

Well, as I type this I am no more than a metre or so from where I used to sleep for much of the first 27 years of my life.

Or, in other words, I’m in Australia at my parent’s house.

Without my own little brood in tow. Just me.

And to be . . . → Read More: Homesick? At ‘home’?

I just had several crisises.

Is it ‘crisises’ or ‘cricii’? Whatever, I got them in bulk.

Oh, hi Faithful reader,

#1, Wrong saw delivered. I’m not upset here, since I gave a certain lovely fellow lots of grief with saws this week, so sending the wrong one was probably pay back for me being a pain in the rear.

#2, I’ve run Sigma Power . . . → Read More: I just had several crisises.

Apologies…

Hello faithful, if possibly frustrated reader…

After what might be the longest delay in blog posts I’ve ever had here (but maybe not), here’s an update. Kind of.

This past month has been incredibly busy. Orders, dealing with folks here in Japan that make stuff and answering questions that come in, etc. Throw in some personal stuff that . . . → Read More: Apologies…

Some wild weather.

Hi again Faithful reader,

Don’t get too excited, this is more of a test than anything else.

The new video camera taking a video of the typhoon that went through here last week. The very next day, I had something kick the stuffing out of me, and I’m still not 100% yet.

Anyway, if you’ve never seen anything like . . . → Read More: Some wild weather.

A visit and news…

Hello again Faithful Reader,

I got told yesterday I’d not put anything here for 2 weeks, so I figured I should say something, anything!

So, here goes…

Got a call yesterday evening from Mr. Koyama(ichi) saying he and his wife were coming to town for a bit of sightseeing.

Just happens that Saturdays are my busiest days of the weeks, . . . → Read More: A visit and news…

All quiet on the Eastern front…

Hi Faithful reader,

Some of you may be wondering where I’ve got to of late, especially if you frequent forums where I’ve normally been very active, then suddenly, nothing.

Maybe not, but if you were wondering, here’s why.

Of late, I seem to have managed to let myself get dragged into ‘urination competitions’ for want of a better explanation, . . . → Read More: All quiet on the Eastern front…

Am I lucky, or not?

Hi All,

Just a very quick one here.

Yesterday, t’was a very rainy day. Typhoon coming through again, and the most pressing thing to do was to go to the local school to see their open day and do a little shopping.

Of course, there’s always something the store needs too, like the petulant child it tends . . . → Read More: Am I lucky, or not?

Road trip; Miki Hamono Kurabu meeting, now with moving pictures!

Hi Faithful reader.

This must be some kind of record, but here we are again, 3rd post in a week.

Are we having fun yet? I hope so. And today, I’m only going to take up a little of your time, about 5 minutes, for a couple of videos from the Miki Hamono club meeting.

First one is Mr. . . . → Read More: Road trip; Miki Hamono Kurabu meeting, now with moving pictures!

How sharp is ‘sharp’?

Hi again faithful (and patient!) reader,

Yes, I know it’s been a long time between posts. I’ve been consumed by some new additions to the store that need preparing (coming soon, cool stuff!) and by an email from a friend here in town, Joe.

Prior to Joe’s email, I’d had just a passing, nodding acquaintance with straight razors . . . → Read More: How sharp is ‘sharp’?

An update, and a request…

Hi all,

I don’t think I need to mention that there was an earthquake and tsunami here in Japan a few days ago.

We are 700km away, and for the time being completely unaffected by the events physically. Emotionally, very much affected.

It’s been suggested/asked/hinted at to me in the last few days about making some kind of effort . . . → Read More: An update, and a request…
